What We Believe

**God** – A holy, spiritual being, all-knowing and present everywhere, eternally existent as three distinct persons – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit – one God (Exodus 3:14-15, John 4:24, Matthew 28:19, John 1:1-2).

**Jesus Christ** – Jesus, “God in the flesh,” was born of a virgin, lived without sin, was crucified for our sins, and resurrected (Matthew 1:18-25, 1 Corinthians 15:3-8). He will return to gather his followers and judge those who reject him (Acts 1:9-11, Hebrews 9:27-28).

**The Holy Spirit** – Lives in believers as Comforter and Advocate, helping us become more like Jesus in character and actions (John 16:5-15).

**Sin** – Humans, created in God’s image, are separated from Him by sin (Romans 5:12-21).

**Salvation** – Faith in Jesus and his sacrifice is the only way to reconcile with God (Acts 4:8-12). Salvation is by grace through faith, not by work (Ephesians 2:8-9). It is freely offered to all, requiring repentance and leading to obedience. Baptism by immersion signifies a commitment to live for Him (Acts 8:26-38, Romans 6:1-4).

**The Bible** – Inspired by God, the Bible is without error and the sole authority for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:15-16, 2 Peter 1:20-21).**The Church** – The Church of Jesus Christ includes all who trust in Him for salvation, with Westside being a part of the greater Church (1 Corinthians 12:12-17).
