Last year we stumbled upon a community of people in between Compton and Long Beach near Del Amo and Santa Fe.  These people are a community just like any other, except instead of traditional houses or apartments, they live in RVs.  We have gotten to know many of the people from this community over the last year, and some have even joined our church.  In fact the picture at the top of our site is at one of our many RVQs.  Many of them can barely afford to pay their weekly street sweeping tickets, so we decided to ask them a question that they do not often hear, “What do you want for Christmas?”  Here are the responses we received:

As you can tell by reading these requests, many of them are in great need.  But we at Westside feel we are called to serve these people, not just out of their need, but because by serving them we are serving Jesus himself. “I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me.” -Jesus (Matthew 25:40)
